Purpose of the Form: Petition to Classify Convention Adoptee as an Immediate Relative. Use Form I-800 to finalize the immigration process if you will adopt a child who habitually resides in a Convention country and your have an approve, valid Form I-800A. Form I-800 and supporting evidence are required for USCIS to determine the child’s eligibility for classification as a Convention adoptee.
No fee is required for the first Form I-800 filed for a child on the basis of an approved Form I-800A.
If more than one Form I-800 is filed during the approval period for different children, the fee is $720 for the second and each subsequent Form I-800. However, if the children are already siblings before the proposed adoption, no additional filing fee is required.
Adoption Coordinator will prepare the Form I-800 and Form I-864 for adoptive family based on information provided on the Adoption Application. Family will then review the forms to ensure the information is correct. You should contact the adoption coordinator immediately to make any necessary changes. When the forms are correct, please do the following:
- Sign and date the Form I-800. Each parents must sign at appropriate places for petitioner and spouse of petitioner.
- Sign and date Form I-864, and photocopies of tax records (Form 1040 and W-2) for the last 3 years.

When your I-800 petition is reviewed and cleared by the USCIS, you and Faith International will receipt the Notice of Approval in the mail. This document is your approval from the United States government to adopt a specific child in a Hague country. The approval will then be forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in foreign country where the child is residing.
