1. Decide to adopt through Faith and request packet of information.


2. Complete and return Faith's application with administrative deposit.


3. Arrange for a social worker to perform a home study. The social worker must be affiliated with a licensed, non-profit agency.


4. File I-600A petition form together with your Homestudy and appropriate documents to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). If you live in the State of Washington, we will file it for you. (See instructions for the I-600A Form here)

5. Get a passport if you do not already have one. Check for expiration on your current one.


6. Gather the documents on the dossier checklist listed in your packet.


7. Faith will put your total dossier together and send it to the country you are adopting from.

8. Depending on the country, referral procedures and travel timelines will vary. Faith will keep you informed every step of the way.


9. Faith will arrange, if necessary, all visa applications ( China Visa, Vietnam Visa ). Faith will also arrange all travel and hotel accommodations after you have been matched with your child(ren).
